"Volume two of Strut's exploration of Disque Debs International recordings - the longest-running and most prolific label of the French Caribbean territories - moves into the 70s and chronicles a very fertile musical scene. Across 16 recordings by 16 different artists, Cadence Revolution documents musicians who drew on a wide range of influences to create a variety of dance music. Opening track, Super Combo's `Moin Domi Dérhô' is seven minutes of sizzling salsa. It's looser and more exuberant than most Colombian examples of that style from the era. The distinctive sense of fun runs throughout - French reggae, Haitian compas, funky jazz, Afropercussion workouts and more ... Throughout there is both a high level of musicianship and real sense of engagement: Martinique and Guadeloupe may be small islands but they obviously possess lively music scenes. The locals must love to dance!"

"It all adds up to a wealth of styles and sounds, and the individual tracks for this double LP (or single CD) have been chosen with impeccable judgement by Messrs Mendez and Omar, each one a winner in its own way. With comprehensive liner notes, including full personnel details, this beautifully presented set leaves me eager for the final volume of discovery. Volume 2 is every bit as good as Volume 1 and essential listening. It's right up there, too, with Haiti Direct. And that, dear reader, is quite some recommendation"
