Postcards from Aarhus to Tierra Grata

In this activity participants will be introduced to the photographs in the exhibition, and this will be followed by a short introduction to the peace process in Colombia, the Tierra Grata community, the La Rotativa collective, and the experimental photography workshop behind the images.

The activity will then open up for a conversation about photography, memory, the representation of place, collaborative and community-based artistic practices, creative work in rural contexts, and any other reflections that emerge from the group.

To conclude, each participant will choose a postcard featuring one of the exhibition photographs. On the back of each postcard is a text written by the child who took the photograph. Inspired by both the image and the text, participants will be invited to write a message that will later be shared with the La Rotativa collective.

The aim is to create a dialogue between Aarhus and Tierra Grata, exploring how these images are interpreted across different places and experiences, and how photography can foster connection between communities that are far apart.

This activity is open to everyone (as long as there is space at the table), and no prior registration is required.
