"Slow movements were very often focal points of Tartini's concertos and each of these provides outstanding examples of his expressive powers ... In summary, here is a rewarding disc with an important new addition. Siranossian is an accomplished violinist who stylishly and unaffectedly responds to the lyrical character of slow movements"

"This compelling release featuring the violinist Chouchane Siranossian confirms that Tartini's concertos are every bit as virtuosic as Vivaldi's but the end result is less fiery and less directly exciting. Instead, the soloist's dexterity is subordinated to give priority to a pervasive melodiousness ... This issue, released to coincide with the 250th anniversary of Tartini's death in 2020, is a worthy tribute"

"There are some much-appreciated aspects to this release ... Recorded for the first time is Tartini's yet-to-be-published Concerto in G major ... The Largo Andante of the Concerto in A - my favourite on the disc ... soloist Chouchane Siranossian makes a truly lovely sound tinged in sadness for this flowing narative. Yet despite all this, there is little else to praise. It's all just very nice ... The Venice Baroque Orchestra form a sensitive backdrop to Siranossian but this is not nearly enough to make this music grab and sustain your attention. Lovely, but is that enough?"

"Editor's choices - March 2020: There's a wonderfully spontaneous, almost rough-and-ready quality to these performances: resin flies and rhythms swing in the stomping gigas, whilst the mesmerising siciliana of the first concerto on the album is full of chromatic twists and turns that wouldn't sound out of place in music written two centuries later"
