"'Glaschu' is a masterfully crafted recording enclosed in exquisite packaging. It is a tribute to the melting pot of Glasgow where various musical traditions and religions have coexisted for years. A wonderful place where Gaelic roots meets urban life"

"Mary Ann Kennedy is a Scottish Gaelic traditional singer and musician, born and brought up in Glasgow's southside. Her second solo album is a vivid collection of Gaelic poems and songs composed by Scottish Gaels who lived in Glasgow in 19th and 20th century ... These songs range in style from the graceful, lilting "parting glass" song "Soraidh Leibh is Oidhche Mhath Leibh" to the rousing, rhythmic slide guitar and saxophone of "Horo Tha Mi Fo Smalan Dheth", which celebrates dancing drunkenly with the statues in George Square on Hogmanay. At the heart of this album is a sequence of pivotal songs about tolerance and inclusion"

"Almost all of the album is sung/spoken in Scots Gaelic, reflecting the language spoken in Ms. Kennedy's home growing up. She has a lovely voice, and her enthusiasm for recording these songs in tribute to her 'Glasgee' roots is obvious, and makes this an excellent contribution to the Scottish traditional canon. Ms. Kennedy has created a loving tribute to her hometown which succeeds as a musical testament to her love and appreciation for a city which both gave her birth, and fostered her creative juices. Glaschu is a very strong statement from a woman who has lived in and loved the city and is proud to show it off to her listeners"
