SmartAarhus - Aarhus WiFi

All libraries and other municipal buildings in Aarhus offer access to wireless internet for all citizens or visitors in the municipality through the city's WiFi network, SmartAarhus.

Here's how you connect to the SmartAarhus network

  1. You need to be in a municipal building where a wireless Wi-Fi network is set up. It could be a school, a job center, a daycare center, or a library, and it's also available at places like Godsbanen and Musikhuset.

  2. Scan for available wireless networks, and "SmartAarhus" will appear as an option.

  3. If the login options don't appear automatically, you can enter a random website address (e.g., www.dokk1.dk), after which the login options will show up.

  4. Subsequently, you'll be asked how you'd like to log into the SmartAarhus network, such as receiving an SMS, using your borrower ID from the public library, or using NemID.

  5. Choose one of the login options and you're good to go. Enjoy!

  6. Log off the computer in the top right corner of the screen when you're finished.

Login options

Library Login: If you're registered as a user of Aarhus Municipality's Libraries, you can log onto the internet using your borrower card number / CPR number and PIN code.

SMS Login: If you're a visitor to the municipality, you can log in via SMS. Enter your phone number, and you'll receive an SMS with a code that you'll need to enter.

Guest Login: You can obtain a guest login by approaching the staff. Remember to bring identification.

NemID: Use your NemID as usual.

Registration

Internet usage through the library's public PCs and the wireless networks is recorded and stored for 30 days. Only with a court order in connection with the investigation of a serious criminal case can the registered information be disclosed to the authorities.
